NFDN Fall Webinar Series starts Sept 30th!
Our Northern Food Distribution Network (NFDN) is hosting a Fall webinar series all about the ways in which we build food communities along the food value chain, from farmers to processors to distribution and beyond. We all eat food, and we’re all part of the food value chain one way or another! Understanding who and what’s behind the local food you eat is important for knowing how to best support your local economy with your food choices.

Webinar #1: Build Back Better in Remote Communities, Arctic Co-ops
Sept 30th, 12:30pm CT / 1:30pm ET
Remote communities in the North have unique challenges with food accessibility, which have been exacerbated by the pandemic. In ‘building back better’ during a post-COVID, climate-emergent world, the needs of Northern communities cannot be ignored. Hear from Duane Wilson, President of Arctic Co-ops, a cooperative service federation of over 30+ co-ops in Nunavut, North West Territories and the Yukon who have weathered the pandemic in creative and cooperative ways. Learn about how Arctic Co-ops works to coordinate resources, consolidate purchasing power and work within and across Northern remote communities to bring economic independence and community-based cooperative goods and services throughout the North.
