Take action for climate resiliency, health equity and food security.

This is a free opportunity to join other communities around the world to learn about transforming political and social systems toward reciprocity and sustainability. The Local Food and Farm Co-op (LFFC) and St. James Town Community Co-op (SJTC) are partnering to participate in an exciting climate action program, "Toward Co-operative Commonwealth: Transition in a Perilous Century," a free open online course (MOOC) designed and delivered by Synergia Co-operative Institute and Athabasca University.

With your help, we aim to build a plan and implement climate action projects that benefit our local communities. Through the course, we will explore effective systems change to take action locally, applying lessons from other communities, organizations, co-ops and movements.

Toward Co-operative Commonwealth: Transition in a Perilous Century

TAKE ACTION

As a food-centred partnership, we choose modules related to food system transformation. This will lead to actions focused on policy reform and innovations needed to make food systems more climate adaptive, regenerative and aligned with human rights. The course is online, and the flexible format allows participants to take the modules independently.
